Having completing a four year degree course at Shoreditch college, I started teaching craft, design and technology in 1978 and I continued to do so until leaving teaching and  moving into financial services for over 20 years until retirement in 2022.

Through-out this period I continued my interest in woodwork and attended numerous courses including residential courses on cabinet making but it was in early 2020 that I took up woodturning seriously, joining the Lincolnshire Wolds Woodturners at West Ashby and in 2023 I also joined the Lincolnshire Woodturning Association in Leasingham and the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain.

I prefer to make one-off items in English and exotic hardwoods and am happy to expriment with texturing and colouring, especially after attending a course with Mick Hanbury at Turners Retreat near Doncaster.

I’m also happy to try out new techniques and processes including the use of jigs and routers in order to achieve something ‘ a little different’ like the                                                                       items below
